About this tool

A 2D CAD that opens DWG/DXF drawings you receive in the browser, without a CAD program, and lets you edit and save them again when needed. Its screen layout, command names and shortcuts follow AutoCAD. File parsing and scene preparation run in a web worker, and the display is drawn with WebGL2.

Open
DWG R13–R2018, DXF R12–R2018 files and new blank drawings
Confirm
Distance including height (Z) and cumulative distance across several points, angle, area and mass properties (MASSPROP) measurement; layers, dimension list, text search
Edit
Drawing and modify commands, right-button drag to move or copy, Tab to cycle through overlapping snaps, tangent snaps that also work on ellipses and splines, dimensions, hatches, blocks, purging unused items (PURGE)
Save
Save as DWG or DXF, with a notice before saving about objects the target format would drop
Output
PDF, PNG and SVG output, several layouts in one PDF (PUBLISH), layers you can toggle and text you can search inside the PDF
Mobile
A view mode instead of the editing ribbon: measure distance, radius, angle and area, choose object snaps, find point coordinates and text, and see dimensions of the object you tap. Added to the home screen, it opens without an internet connection

Getting started

  1. Open the DWG/DXF CAD and get used to the controls first with “Open sample drawing” on the start screen.
  2. Choose a .dwg or .dxf file with “Open file” (Ctrl+O) or drag it into the window. To start from a blank drawing, press “New drawing” (Ctrl+N).
  3. Zoom with the wheel and pan with the middle button. You can type the same commands as in AutoCAD on the command line, such as DI (distance), MEA (measure) and LA (layers).
  4. Save the edited drawing as DWG or DXF. If the format would drop some objects, you are told before saving. Export it to PDF, PNG or SVG if needed.

Available for free, with no installation or user registration required. File parsing and display are processed within the device's browser; the selected drawing or model files are not uploaded to a server.

Support and limitations

  • DWG files from R13 to R2018 open, and DWG is saved as R2000 to R2018. R2007 drawings are saved in R2004 format.
  • External references, images, PDF underlays and SHX fonts appear as in the original only after you select those files separately. Korean text set in an SHX big font is drawn with Noto Sans KR instead, so it may look different from the original.
  • Regions and 3D solids are drawn only as edge lines. Commands that create regions or combine and subtract them, and commands that author new dynamic block parameters, only point to alternatives.
  • On mobile devices it opens in a view-and-measure screen. To draw and save, switch to the editing screen with the pencil button or use a computer.
  • This is a personal open source project with no affiliation to Autodesk. Check drawings for delivery or machining again against the original program and your work standards.
